Joint parents’ meeting 
May 7th, 2025, 4:00pm - 5:15pm via Zoom

Dear parent of a student in an international or foreign school system,

I am Mrs. Inge Duus Hjortlund, and I am a long time counsellor from Studievalg Danmark visiting local international (high) schools in the Greater Copenhagen Region in Denmark, including schools offering the IBDP, American high school diploma, EB, German DIAP as well as the French Baccalaureate/DFB.

Studievalg Danmark (Study and Career Guidance Denmark) is a nationwide guidance institution with seven regional education and career guidance centers, including one for the Capital Region based in Nørrebro. Please read more about Studievalg Danmark and our guidance here.

Studievalg would like to invite you to a joint parents’ session via Zoom on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. It is completely free to participate. You are welcome to forward this invitation to other parents in your network who might benefit from the content described below.

Purpose and content of the meeting

The purpose of this meeting is to get more in touch with you as parents in the international school system and/or abroad and to make sure that you are aware what Studievalg Danmark’s role is or could be in your child’s process of choosing and applying to higher education in Denmark after high school/IB/EB etc.

I will begin the meeting with approximately 45 minutes of presenting slides and websites on matters relating to both the Danish educational system, general and specific requirements including how to apply for higher education before March 15, 12 noon, each year (which is the application deadline for most programmes for all international or foreign high school diploma holders). After this presentation, I and my colleague, Lone Conradsen Wind, will respond to questions from the chat or directly from you in the meeting for an additional half hour. On May 7, please log on to Zoom a few minutes before 4:00pm and make sure you are receiving both sound and image properly. My colleague will help us in the chat answering individual questions while I am presenting the more over all points of notice regarding the Danish system. Please be advised: We can’t make any assessments of individual subjects, grades, degrees etc., you will have to contact local institutions directly for more information on these individual matters.
